“Temple mornings, a proper vegetarian spread, and Sigiriya before the heat. They knew the SAARC tickets without us asking.”

Adventure · hiking · 8 days · 7 nights
Eight days on foot and on the river. Kitulgala white water, a full Knuckles trek, a night climb of Adam’s Peak in season, Horton Plains at the gate opening, then Ella’s ridges.
For a young, fit crowd who want real trails — rafting, Knuckles, Adam’s Peak, World’s End, Ella Rock — not a temple circuit with a walk tacked on.
Route: Airport → Kitulgala → Knuckles → Adam’s Peak → Horton Plains → Ella → Airport

Day 1
Pickup and a short drive to the Kelani. Check the rafting grade with the river camp (usually Grade 2–3). Early sleep.
Day 2
Morning on the Kelani. Dry bags, then the long climb toward the Knuckles conservation forest. Village stay or a simple eco lodge.
Day 3
Cloud forest, leeches in the wet months, real climbing. Local trail guide is required inside the conservation area. Carry 2L; we stock extra water in the vehicle.
Day 4
In season (Dec–May) we base at Dalhousie for the night climb. Off-season we swap this for extra Horton / Ella trail time — same hiking hours, different peak.
Day 5
Head torch, layers, slow and steady. Summit for first light, then down and a late breakfast. Rest. If you prefer not to night-hike, we do Horton Plains instead.
Day 6
Baker’s Falls and the cliff before the cloud. This is the money view. Afternoon drop into Ella.
Day 7
Sunrise on Little Adam’s Peak (free, no queue if you start 5:45am). Then Ella Rock or the upper Diyaluma pools — a swim after the week’s climbing.
Day 8
South-west across the hills and the expressway. Drop three hours before your flight.

“Four nights after our Maldives week. Dambulla, the rock, Kandy, tea — and back to CMB without a scramble.”

“Knuckles wrecked our legs in the best way. World’s End clear at 6:40am. This is the one for people who actually want to walk.”
